My First Understanding of Writing Techniques

Understanding the Question

  1. Make sure that you read the title of the essay or question you are being asked.
  2. Once you have read it, try to understand what the question is asking. You may find it is a good idea to make a short note of what you first think.
  3. The next task is, just as they told you to do in examinations at school, re-read the question.
  4. Does it now appear to be asking the same thing you thought the first time?
  5. If so time to move on to the next section otherwise, go back to part 1)
  6. Now you have a good idea of what is being asked of you, it may be a good time to analyse it a bit further.
    1. Now you have a good idea of what is being asked of you, it may be a good time to analyse it a bit further.
    2. If your essay title were “Compare Nature Conservation to Naturalism”
    3. Taking this apart may be a good idea trying to define what each part means. To compare, by definition means; to show   similarities and differances. The two things we are to compare in this fictisious essay are nature conservation and naturalism.
  7. It is now time to go on to the next section, "Collecting Information"
